    The paper deals with the Cauchy problem for the weakly coupled system of heat equations \[ \left\{\begin{aligned} &u_{t} - \Delta u = g(v),\\ &v_{t} -\Delta v = f(u),\\ &(u,v)(0,x) = (u_0,v_0)(x), \end{aligned}\right. \quad(t, x)\in\mathbb{R}_{+}\times\mathbb{R}^N, \] and the Cauchy problem for the corresponding system of damped wave equations \[ \left\{\begin{aligned} &u_{tt} - \Delta u + u_t = g(v), \\ &v_{tt} -\Delta v + v_t = f(u),\\ &(u,v,u_t,v_t)(0,x) = (u_0,v_0,u_1,v_1)(x),\end{aligned}\right. \quad(t, x)\in\mathbb{R}_{+}\times\mathbb{R}^N. \] Here, \((f(u),g(v)) = (|u|^{q-1}u, |v|^{p-1}v)\) for \(p,q \geq 1\), \(pq > 1\). When \(p\), \(q\) satisfy \(\max({(p+1)}/{(pq-1)}\), \({(q+1)}/{(pq-1)}) < N/2\), the exponents \(p,q\) are supercritical. The author assorts the supercritical exponent case to two cases. In one case, both \(p\) and \(q\) are bigger than the Fujita exponent \(\rho_{F}(N)=1+2/N\), while, in the other case, \(\rho_{F}(N)\) is between \(p\) and \(q\). In both cases, the author obtains the time-global and unique existence of solutions for small data and their asymptotic behavior.
