The paper contains a proof of qualitatively sharp heat kernel bounds in the context of Fourier-Bessel expansions with the associated type parameter \(\nu\) being a half-integer. The proof relies on a connection between the Fourier-Bessel setting related to \(\nu\) and the classical setting of the \(d\)-dimensional unit ball \(B^{(d)}(1)\), where \(\nu=\frac d2-1\). This connection allows to transfer known bounds for the heat kernel \(\mathcal G^{(d)}_t(x, y)\), \( x, y\in B^{(d)}(1) \), \(t>0\), subject to the Dirichlet boundary conditions, to the Fourier-Bessel framework. Consequently, qualitatively sharp estimates for \(G^\nu_t(x,y)\), \(x,y\in(0,1)\), the heat kernel associated to the differential operator \(L_\nu=-\frac{d^2}{dx^2}-\frac{2\nu+1}d\frac{d}{dx}\), follow.
