The theory of regular model sets (cut and project sets) with sufficiently nice window is presented in the recent monograph [\textit{M. Baake} and \textit{U. Grimm}, Aperiodic order. Volume 1. A mathematical invitation. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2013; Zbl 1295.37001)]. In the paper the authors investigate weak model sets. The diffraction properties for a class of windows are investigated. Moreover, the ergodicity of the cluster frequency measure for the van Hove sequence is analysed, which then implies the dynamical properties of the hull. In particular, it is shown that weak model sets of extremal density have a pure point dynamical spectrum. These results are applied to some coprime lattice families, which encompasses the \(k\)-visible lattice points in \(d\)-space as well as other examples of arithmetric origin, such as \(k\)-free or \(\mathcal B\)-free integers and their generalizations to analogous systems in number fields.
