In this work, the authors consider a delayed two-species competitive system with imprecise biological parameters. Instead of taking rates as constant, they assume that these belong to some bounded interval. This choice is more general and gives more flexibility. The paper studies the combined effect of a toxic substance and fluctuation of the biological parameters on the dynamical behaviors of the model system. Presently, due to the global increase of harmful phytoplankton blooms, the study of dynamic interactions between two competing phytoplankton species in the presence of toxic substances is an active field of research. Different models are available starting from ordinary to delay and even more advanced differential equations. The deterministic model never predicts the sudden localized behavior of certain species. To overcome this problem one can consider interval variability of biological parameters in the modeling approach. This paper considers such a model and investigates the existence of various equilibrium points and the stability of the system at these equilibrium points. The existence of limit cycles is shown in the case of a toxic stimulatory system. At the end, the authors perform numerical simulations to validate their analytical findings.
