The author considers holomorphic functions on \({\mathcal U}\), the projective limit over \(n\) of \(U(n)\), the unitary group of order \(n\). Using Young diagrams, he introduces the infinite-dimensional Hardy space \(H_\chi^2\) on \({\mathcal U}\) and proves that it has an orthogonal decomposition into spaces of homogeneous polynomials. A reproducing kernel for \(H_\chi^2\) is derived. An isometric isomorphism between \(H_\chi^2\) and the Fock space, \(\Gamma\), allows the author to establish integral representations of functions in \(H_\chi^2\) and the existence of radial boundary values.
