Special values of \(L\)-functions for orthogonal groups (Q517488)

This paper announces a result on special values of \(L\)-functions for orthogonal groups. The authors state certain rationality results for the critical values of the degree-\(2n\) \(L\)-functions attached to \(\text{GL}_1\times \text{SO}(n,n)\) over \(\mathbb{Q}\), where \(n=2m \geq 2\). They present an outline of the proof, which is found by studying the rank-one Eisenstein cohomology for \(\text{SO}(n+1,n+1)\).
