The authors consider a class of partially hyperbolic endomorphisms on \(\mathbb{T}^2\): \[ F_{\epsilon}: (x,\theta)\in \mathbb{T}^2 \mapsto \big(f(x,\theta), \theta + \epsilon\, \omega(x,\theta)\big), \] where \(f_\theta:=f(\cdot,\theta)\) is uniformly expanding. While the variable \(x\) changes quickly, the variable \(\theta\) changes slowly for small \(\epsilon\). So the above systems are called {fast-slow} partially hyperbolic systems. The authors study the behavior of slow variable for different time scales, and observed that there exists an open set \(\mathcal{U}_{\epsilon}\) of fast-slow systems, such that each system in \(\mathcal{U}_{\epsilon}\) admits a unique physical measure supported on a statistical sink whose central Lyapunov exponent is positive. Then they prove that in this case, the center foliation is not absolutely continuous.
