The paper is devoted to analyzing the topological expansion in the cubic log-gas model with a general complex coupling constant and semiclassical asymptotics of related orthogonal polynomials. The equilibrium measures and corresponding \(S\)-curves for the cubic model are described. The phase diagram of the model on the complex \(t\)-plane is described. The main results are the topological expansion in the one-cut phase region and the asymptotic expansion of the orthogonal polynomials and their recurrence coefficients. The results are based on the Riemann-Hilbert approach to semiclassical asymptotic expansions for the associated orthogonal polynomials, the theory of \(S\)-curves and quadratic differentials.
