The authors categorify the extended affine Hecke algebra and the affine quantum Schur algebra \(\widehat{S}(n,r)\) for \(3\leq r<n\), using results on diagrammatic categorification in affine type \(A\) by\textit{B. Elias} and \textit{G. Williamson} [Represent. Theory 20, 295--374 (2016; Zbl 1427.20006)], that extend the work of \textit{B. Elias} and \textit{M. Khovanov} [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 2010, Article ID 978635, 58 p. (2010; Zbl 1219.18003)] for finite type \(A\), and \textit{M. Khovanov} and \textit{A. D. Lauda} [Quantum Topol. 1, No. 1, 1--92 (2010; Zbl 1206.17015); erratum ibid. 2, No. 1, 97--99 (2011; Zbl 1210.17021)] respectively. They also define \(2\)-representations of these categorifications on an extension of the \(2\)-category of affine (singular) Soergel bimodules.
