The paper under review classifies non-symplectic automorphisms of prime order on K3 surfaces. We recall that an automorprhism is symplectic if it acts trivially on \(\mathbb C\omega\) where \(\omega\) is a nowhere vanishing holomorphic 2-form. Using the topological Lefschetz formula and the analysis of the action on the Picard and trascendental lattices, the authors complete the classfication for the orders 5 and 7 and give new proofs for higher primes. They also compute the irreducible components of the moduli space for any \(p\). The appendix by S. Kondō shows that Naruki's surface (see \textit{I. Naruki}'s paper [``On a K3 surface which is a ball quotient'', MPIM preprint series, No. 1985-52 (1985)]), which is a quotient of a complex ball with a suitable Hermitian form, has an automorphism of order 7.
