The authors derive necessary and sufficient conditions for a class of \(\omega\)-smash coproduct Hopf algebras as introduced by \textit{S. Caenepeel, B. Ion, G. Militaru} and \textit{S. Zhu} [Algebr. Represent. Theory 3, No. 1, 19-42 (2000; Zbl 0957.16027)] to be braided Hopf algebras in the sense of \textit{R. G. Larson} and \textit{J. Towber} [Commun. Algebra 19, No. 12, 3295-3345 (1991; Zbl 0751.16014)]. Special cases are discussed and explicit examples are given.
