Good eggs and Veronese varieties (Q557083)

Let \(q\) be an odd prime power. \textit{J. A. Thas} [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 79, 223--254 (1997; Zbl 0887.51004)] established a connection between good eggs in the finite projective space \(PG(4n-1, q)\) and Veronese varieties in \(PG(5, q^n)\). The authors give a new proof for this connection, using the model for good eggs from \textit{M. Lavrauw} and \textit{T. Penttila} [J. Comb. Theory, A 96, 303--315 (2001; Zbl 1001.51004)].
