This paper is a summary of the affirmative answer of the Nash problem for a rational singularity of dimension two over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. It is known that the Nash problem is affirmatively answered if a certain wedge at the singular point can be lifted to the minimal resolution. The author of this paper shows that the wedge is liftable for rational surface singularities. She sketches the ideas of the proofs and also an example that the wedge cannot be liftable for positive characteristic case.
