A spin model for link invariants is a square matrix with non-zero complex entries which satisfies certain axioms. \textit{F. Jaeger} and \textit{K. Nomura} [J. Algebr. Comb. 10, No. 3, 241-278 (1999; Zbl 0946.05084)] showed that for every spin model \(W\) the transpose \(^tW\) is obtained from \(W\) by a permutation \(\tau\) of rows. Moreover, there a general form of models of index \(2\) was given where the index of \(W\) is the order of that permutation \(\tau\). In the paper under review the authors generalize the latter result to spin models of arbitrary index.
