Transport properties of doubly periodic arrays of circular cylinders and optimal design problems (Q5944675)

The effectiveness of applications of the method of functional equations developed in previous papers is demonstrated. Further some boundary value problems for a set of harmonic functions periodic in \(y\) and quasiperiodic in \(x\), the periods in \(x\) and \(y\) being reciprocals are considered. The bondary conditions are given on a finite set of circumferences inside every cell of the lattice of the (quasi)periodicity. Such kind of problems are considered in connection with some applied problems in transport properties of two-dimensional doubly periodic composite materials. A certain perturbation method for treating the considered problems develops the solution of the problem by the method of functional equations. The so called effective conductivity is also considered and optimal design problems are discussed.
