The authors show the stability of rotating solitons of the Maxwell-Lorentz system with an extended charged rotating particle, assuming the effective moments of inertia are sufficiently large. The solitons are solutions which correspond to the uniform rotation of the particle. The Hamilton-Poisson representation of the Maxwell-Lorentz system is constructed in order to show stability. This allows to construct a Lyapunov function corresponding to a soliton. One key part of the proof is a lower bound for the Lyapunov function, which implies that the soliton is a strict local minimizer of the Lyapunov function.
