Real analytic hypersurfaces admitting isolated CR singularity at the origin are known as the perturbations of Bishop quadrics \[ \begin{aligned}\mathcal Q_\gamma &:\ \ z_2=|z_1|^2+\gamma\,(z_1^2+\overline z_1^2), \text{ for } 0\leq \gamma<\infty, \\ \mathcal Q_\infty&: \ \ z_2=z_1^2+\overline z_1^2. \end{aligned} \] When \(0<\gamma<\frac{1}{2}\) the appearing CR singularity is called elliptic while for \(\gamma>\frac{1}{2}\) it is called of hyperbolic type. In both elliptic and quadric cases, the CR singularity is invariant under perturbations. \textit{J. K. Moser} and \textit{S. M. Webster} in their seminal work [Acta Math. 150, 255--296 (1983; Zbl 0519.32015)] studied higher order analytic perturbations of parabolic quadrics \(\mathcal Q_\gamma\) and showed that they are holomorphically equivalent to the normal forms \[ z_2=|z_1|^2+(\gamma+\epsilon \mathrm{Re}(z_2)^s)(z_1^2+\overline z_1^2) \] for some \(\epsilon\in\{-1,0,1\}\) and \(s\in\mathbb N^\ast\cup\{\infty\}\). In the paper in question, the authors endeavor to consider the analytic higher order perturbations of hyperbolic quadrics. As the main result, they show that nondegenerate analytic perturbations of hyperbolic quadrics contain a large number of analytic hyperbolas. In order to prove this result, they develop a new version of KAM theory for pairs of germs of holomorphic involutions at the origin.
