    The paper concerns the Jacobi operator on the half-lattice: \[ (Jf)_x = a_x f_{x+1} + b_x f_x + a_{x-1} f_{x-1},\; x \in \mathbb{N}, \quad f = (f_x)_{x=1}^\infty, \] where \(f\) is a square summable sequence and \(a_0 := 1,\) \(f_0 := 0.\) The coefficients \(a_x\) are positive, while \(b_x\) are real. The case of finite perturbations is considered. Let the unperturbed operator be determined with \(a_x = 1,\) \(b_x = 0\) for \(x \in \mathbb N.\) Then, an operator \(J\) corresponds to the perturbation specified by the real-valued sequence \(q = (b_1, a_1-1, b_2, a_2-1, \ldots).\) By \(\mathfrak X_k,\) denote the class of \(q = (q_x)_{x=1}^\infty\) for which the maximal index of non-zero element is \(k\in \mathbb N.\) The Jost function \(\psi_0(z)\) is introduced as the zero component of the solution of the problem \[ a_x \psi_{x+1} + b_x \psi_x + a_{x-1} \psi_{x-1} = \left(z +\frac1z\right)\psi_x,\quad x \in \mathbb{N}, \quad z \in \mathbb C\setminus\{0\},\tag{1} \] \[ \psi_x(z) = z^x, \quad x > \Big\lceil \frac{k}{2}\Big\rceil, \] where~(1) is used for consecutive computation of \(\psi_{x-1}\) for \(x = \overline{p, 1}.\) The Jost function is a polynomial of degree \(k.\) Its zeros are closely related to the eigenvalues and the resonances of \(J.\) After the mapping \(z \to z + \frac1z,\) the zeros inside the unit circle transform into the eigenvalues of \(J,\) while the other zeros transform into the resonances. The function \(S(z) = \psi_0(z^{-1})/\psi_0(z),\) where \(|z| = 1,\) is called S-matrix. The inverse spectral problem of recovering \(J\) by the values of the S-matrix at a finite number of points is studied. \noindent\textbf{Theorem 1.1.} Let \(S_n(z)\) be the S-matrix for the Jacobi operator \(J_n\) corresponding to the perturbation \(q_n \in \mathfrak X_k,\) \(n=1,2.\) Consider arbitrary distinct points \(\zeta_j,\) \(j = \overline{1,k},\) such that \(|\zeta_j| = 1\) and \(\mathrm{Im}\,\zeta_j < 0.\) If \(S_1(\zeta_j) = S_2(\zeta_j)\) for \(j=\overline{1, k},\) then \(J_1 = J_2.\) Other results concern location of the eigenvalues and the resonances.
