The authors consider quantitative mean ergodic theorems for two subclasses of power bounded operators on a fixed noncommutative \(L_p\) space with \(1<p<\infty\), mainly power bounded invertible operators and Lamperti contractions. Let \(\mathcal M\) be a semifinite von Neumann algebra equipped with a normal semifinite faithful (abbreviated as n.s.f.) trace \(\tau\). Let \(L_p(\mathcal M)\) be the associated noncommutative \(L_p\) space and \(L_p(\mathcal M;\ell^{rc}_2)\) be one noncommutative analogue of Hilbert-valued \(L_p\) space (see Section 2 for the precise definition). Let \(T\) be a bounded linear operator on \(L_p(\mathcal M)\). The one-sided ergodic averages \(M_n(T) \) is defined as \[ M_n(T)=\frac1{n+1}\sum_{k=0}^{n}T^k \quad \forall n\in\mathbb N; \] and if \(T\) is invertible, the two-sided ergodic averages \(B_n(T)\) is defined by \[ B_n(T)=\frac1{2n+1}\sum_{k=-n}^{n}T^k \quad \forall n\in\mathbb N.\] The following theorem is given. {Theorem 1.} Let \(1<p<\infty\). Suppose that \(T\) is an invertible power bounded operator, \[\sup_{k\in \mathbb Z}\|T^k:L_p(\mathcal M)\to L_p(\mathcal M)\|<\infty.\] Then there exists a positive constant \(C_p\) such that \[ \sup \| \left(M_{n_i}(T)x-M_{n_{i+1}}(T)x\right)_{i\in \mathbb N}\|_{L_p(\mathcal M;\ell^{rc}_2)}\leq C_p\|x\|, \ \forall x\in L_p(\mathcal M), \tag{1} \] where the supremum is taken over all the increasing subsequence \((n_i)_{i\in\mathbb N}\) of positive integers. Similar inequality holds for two-sided ergodic averages \((B_n(T))_{n\in\mathbb N}\). Moreover, if \(T\) is replaced by an operator in the closed convex hull of all Lamperti contractions on \(L_p(\mathcal M)\) with respect to strong operator topology, then the inequality \((1)\) still holds, where \(T\) is said to be a Lamperti operator if for any two \(\tau\)-finite projections \(e, f \in\mathcal M\) satisfies \(ef = 0\), then \((Te)^*(Tf)=(Te)(Tf)^*=0\).
