The paper is devoted to study the maximum number of crossing limit cycles in discontinuous piecewise differential systems formed by two linear systems having only centers or Hamiltonian saddles and separated by the algebraic curve \(y = x^n\) where \(n \geq 2\). The authors provide an upper bound of the number of crossing limit cycles for the mentioned systems in terms of \(n\) and show that for \(n=2\) this bound can be reached.
