Suzuki algebras, denoted by the symbols \(A^{\mu\lambda}_{N 2n}\), are a class of cosemisimple Hopf algebras introduced by \textit{S. Suzuki} in [Tsukuba J. Math. 22, No. 1, 1--29 (1998; Zbl 0939.16024)] in the study of the classification of cosemisimple Hopf algebras of low dimension. Their construction is given as a quotient of a certain bialgebra, and contain nontrivial Hopf algebras, in the sense of categorical Morita (non-)equivalence. Nichols algebras are associated to braided vector spaces, and have played a fundamental role in the classification of Hopf algebras. For instance, Nichols algebras of diagonal type are of central importance in the classification of finite dimensional, and of finite Kirillov-Gelfand dimension, Hopf algebras. The article under review focuses on the problem of studying, and classifying, all the finite dimensional Hopf algebras over the Suzuki algebras, and it constitutes the first article in a series by the same author, encompassing also the study of simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules of \(A^{\mu\lambda}_{N 2n}\). Overall, this article presents an extensive study of Yetter-Drinfeld modules with non-group type braidings, which is a topic of interest. The author provides an explicit full set of non-isomorphic simple left modules over the Suzuki algebras \(A^{\mu\lambda}_{N 2n}\), and uses these results to construct Yetter-Drinfeld modules applying known techniques of Redford. This study culminates in the description of the a full set of non-isomorphic simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules over \(A^{\mu\lambda}_{N 2n}\). The results are also summarized in detailed tables. The classification thus obtained, is therefore used to study Nichols algebras over simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules, employing previous work of Heckenberger. The author also shows that a class of Nichols algebras introduced by \textit{N. Andruskiewitsch} and \textit{J. M. J. Giraldi} [Linear Multilinear Algebra 66, No. 5, 961--991 (2018; Zbl 1392.16025)], having non-group type braidings, are realized in the Yetter-Drinfeld category of Suzuki algebras \(A^{\mu\lambda}_{N 2n}\).
