A submanifold is called parallel if the covariant derivative of the second fundamental form using the Van der Waerden-Bortolotti connection vanishes identically. Next to the totally geodesic examples, parallel submanifolds are amongst the most interesting ones. In this paper, the author completely classifies the parallel surfaces in the hyperbolic space (with neutral metric). It turns out that there are 53 families of such surfaces. An explicit expression describing each immersion is also given. The list contains both marginally trapped surfaces and untrapped surfaces.
