The authors consider a system of equations for compressible non-isothermal diffuse fluid model (capillary fluids). The complex behaviour of the fluid in the capillar media is explained in such terms as `capillary' (extra gradient terms in the energy, the pressure tensor, and the heat flux), `diffuse interface' (higher-order derivatives lead to thin transition zones between phases), and `cohesive fluids' (the extra gradient terms are due to cohesive forces). The equations are conservation laws for density, velocity, and energy. The authors prove local existence of strong solutions.
