The author introduces a differential operator on the space of Hermitian Jacobi forms of weight \(k\) and index \(m\) of degree 1 for the Hermitian Jacobi group over the ring of integers of the imaginary quadratic field to construct modular forms for \(\text{SL}(2, \mathbb Z)\). Its commutation with certain Hecke operators is shown and it is used to construct a map from elliptic cusp forms to Hermitian cusp forms. Hermitian Jacobi forms are constructed as the image of the tensor product of two copies of Jacobi forms and also from the differentiation of the variables. The number of Fourier coefficients that determine a Hermitian Jacobi form is found and the differential operator is used to embed a certain subspace of Hermitian Jacobi forms into a direct sum of modular forms for the full modular group.
