Isoparametric hypersurfaces induced by navigation in Lorentz Finsler geometry (Q6079306)

This article is divided into four sections. In Section 1, the authors give a brief history of isoparametric theory. Section 2 gives some background on Finsler metrics, Lorentz-Finsler metrics, the navigation process and geometric correspondences for homothetic navigation. In Section 3, they recall the definitions of isoparametric functions and isoparametric hypersurfaces for Finsler metrics (with or without a smooth measure involved), and generalize these notions to Lorentz-Finsler metrics. In Section 4, they prove the main theorem and provide some examples of isoparametric functions and isoparametric hypersurfaces in Funk spaces of Lorentz-Randers type. The main theorem generalizes the correspondence between isoparametric functions and isoparametric hypersurfaces before and after a homothetic navigation. Some examples are given.
