Let \((M,g)\) be a Riemannian manifold. We say that it is {Einstein} if there is \(\lambda\in\mathbb{R}\) such that \(\mathrm{Ric}(g)=\lambda g\). The results of this paper are motivated by several constructions of Einstein metrics on bundles over Einstein manifolds. Let \((M^{4n},\sigma_1,\sigma_2,\sigma_3,g_M)\) be a hyper-Kähler manifold with integral Kähler forms. Denote by \(M^{4n+1}_\alpha\), \(M^{4n+2}_{\alpha,\xi}\) and \(M^{4n+3}_{\alpha,\xi,\eta}\) a \(S^1\)-, \(\mathbb{T}^2\)- and \(\mathbb{T}^3\)-bundle over \(M^{4n}\), respectively. Then the author proves the following: \begin{itemize} \item The manifold \(P^{4n+2}=\mathbb{R}\times M^{4n+1}_\alpha\) admits a Kähler-Einstein metric \(g_P\). \item The manifold \(L^{4n+3}=\mathbb{R}\times M^{4n+2}_{\alpha,\xi}\) admits an Einstein metric \(g_L\). \item The manifold \(N^{4n+4}=\mathbb{R}\times M^{4n+3}_{\alpha,\xi,\eta}\) admits a quaternion-Kähler metric \(g_N\). \end{itemize} All these metrics have negative scalar curvature and are complete if and only if \(g_M\) is. Moreover, they are not homogeneous unless \(M^{4n}\) is flat. These Riemannian manifolds fit in the following sequence \[ (N^{4n+4},g_N)\to(L^{4n+3},g_L)\to(P^{4n+2},g_P)\to(Q^{4n+1},g_Q)\to(M^{4n},g_M),\] where each arrow is a projection map and a Riemannian submersion, and \(Q^{4n+1}=\mathbb{R}\times M^{4n}\) is equipped with an Einstein metric \(g_Q\). The author furthermore studies how to lift Killing, homothetic and permuting vector fields on \(M^{4n}\) to Killing vector fields on \(Q^{4n+1}\), \(P^{4n+2}\), \(L^{4n+3}\) and \(N^{4n+4}\). In particular, the author provides an alternative proof of the HK/QK correspondence. More precisely, given a hyper-Kähler manifold with permuting \(S^1\)-action, one can lift it to a Killing action on \(N^{4n+4}\). The quaternion-Kähler quotient of \(N^{4n+4}\) yields a quaternion-Kähler manifold of negative scalar curvature. Further geometric structures are studied on the manifolds \(P^{4n+2}\), \(L^{4n+3}\) and \(N^{4n+4}\), as well as on the \(\mathbb{T}^4\)-bundle \(M^{4n+4}_{\alpha,\xi,\eta,\nu}\to M^{4n}\).
