For a singular normal complex surface \(X\), an endomorphism is called a quasi-étale endomorphism if it induces an étale endomorphism on the smooth part \(X^{o}\) of \(X\). The author proves the following for complex surfaces. {Theorem}: Let \(G\) be a small finite subgroup of \(GL(2,\mathbb{C})\) and let \(X=\mathbb{A}^2/G\). Let \(\phi:X \rightarrow X\) be a quasi-étale endomorphism. If \(G\) has even order, then \(\phi\) is an automorphism. In particular, if \(\tilde{\phi}: \mathbb{A}^2\rightarrow \mathbb{A}^2\) is a \(G\)-equivariant étale endomorphism then \(\tilde{\phi}\) is an automorphism. There is a standard \(\mathbb{A}^1_*\)-fibration on \(X^{o}\) for \(X=\mathbb{A}^2/G\). The author proves that if any quasi-étale endomorphism \(\phi:X\rightarrow X\) preserves this standard \(\mathbb{A}^1_*\)-fibration, it is an automorphism and its lift \(\tilde{\phi}\) is also an automorphism.
