The authors' aim is to prove the Douglas identity in Lebesgue spaces \(L^p\), for \(1<p<\infty\), related to trace theory for Sobolev spaces. The former integral that is considered is convenient for studying the trace of (not necessarily harmonic) functions with this energy form finite. To obtain the requested properties, the authors make use of Green's identity. The study is focused on minimization properties for \(p\)-forms and gives a variant of the Douglas identity for non-harmonic functions.
