The author is mostly interested in discussing the properties of the one-parameter Gelfand-Shilov spaces \(S_{s},\) and \(S^{\sigma },\) their duals \((S_{s})'\) and \(\left( S^{\sigma }\right) ' \)as well as the corresponding spaces \(\Sigma_{s}\) and \(\Sigma^{\sigma }\) and their duals [\textit{J.-Y. Chung} et al., Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 124, No.~7, 2101--2108 (1996; Zbl 0871.46018); \textit{S.~J.~L. van Eijndhoven}, Indag. Math. 49, 133--144 (1987; Zbl 0698.46034); \textit{A.~Petersson}, Characterizations of Gelfand-Shilov spaces. Växjö: Linné universitetet (MS Thesis) (2021); \textit{I.~M. Gel'fand} and \textit{G.~E. Shilov}, Generalized functions. Vol.~2: Spaces of fundamental and generalized functions. New York and London: Academic Press (1968; Zbl 0159.18301)]. He also establishes growth estimates on elements in these spaces and their Fourier transforms. Additionally, the author finds estimates involving the short-time Fourier transform which provides an alternative characterization of Gelfand-Shilov spaces. The paper is structured as follows: In Section~2, the author gives notations, the definitions of the above mentioned spaces, and preliminary propositions regarding Gelfand-Shilov spaces necessary to obtain the results in this work. In Section~3, the spaces \(S_{s}\) and \(S^{\sigma }\) are characterized in terms of their short-time Fourier transform. The main result of this section is Theorem~3.1. In Section~4, the author shows how these results can be used to characterize the duals of these one-parameter spaces via the short-time Fourier transform as well. In Section~5, the author finds conditions on the symbol of Toeplitz operators so that the operator is continuous on one-parameter spaces and their duals. Lastly, in Section~6, it is determined for which \(s\) and \(\sigma \) the space \(\Sigma_{s}^{\sigma }\) is nontrivial.
