The authors investigate the behaviour of collapsing Calabi-Yau metrics and collapsing normalized Kähler-Ricci flows on the fiber spaces with smooth base in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology. In either setting, the authors obtain an explicit bound for the real codimension-2 Hausdorff measure of the Cheeger-Colding singular set and identify a sufficient condition from birational geometry to understand the metric behavior of the limiting metric on the base. In the setting of Kähler-Ricci flow, the authors are able to identify the Gromov-Hausdorff limit under a log smoothness assumption, confirming the conjectural Gromov-Hausdorff convergence in this case. This extends earlier work to the case when the base space is of dimension greater than 1.
