The following Fredholm-Hammerstein integral equation of the second kind on the half-line is considered: \[ z(y)=\psi(y)+\int\limits_{0}^{\infty}k(y,t)f(t,z(t))dt, \qquad y\in [0,\infty). \] For enhancing the convergence rates, the technique developed in [\textit{S. Kumar} and \textit{I. H. Sloan}, Math. Comput. 48, 585--593 (1987; Zbl 0616.65142)] is applied. The authors discuss the approximate solutions of this equation using discrete projection and discrete multi-projection methods based on the Galerkin and collocation techniques. The same superconvergence rates as in the standard iterated discrete projection methods and iterated discrete multi-projection methods are obtained. However, the proposed approach requires less computational cost. The obtained results are verified with the use of a detailed set of numerical examples.
