Infinite products of operators find application in diverse areas of mathematics and the natural sciences. See, for example, the survey paper by \textit{J. Dye} and \textit{S. Reich} [Pitman Res. Notes Math. Ser. 244, 106--118 (1992; Zbl 0815.47067)] and references therein. Following earlier work by \textit{M. Bačák} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 385, No. 2, 599--607 (2012; Zbl 1232.47047)], \textit{S. Reich} and \textit{Z. Salinas} [Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo (2) 65, No. 1, 55--71 (2016; Zbl 1348.47064)] gave a collection of results on the weak convergence of infinite products of operators in complete CAT(0) (that is, Hadamard) spaces. See also the paper by \textit{S. Reich} and \textit{Z. Salinas} [Linear Nonlinear Anal. 1, No. 2, 169--200 (2015; Zbl 1435.47061)]. These authors studied, in particular, infinite products of convex combinations of operators. However, dealing with convex combinations in Hadamard spaces is not an easy task. In this connection see also, for instance, the paper by \textit{E. Kopecká} and \textit{S. Reich} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 70, No. 9, 3187--3194 (2009; Zbl 1166.47050)]. Using the construction introduced by \textit{R. Espínola} et al. [Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn., Math. 43, No. 1, 225--238 (2018; Zbl 1391.53050)], the authors of the present paper propose a new approach to the results established by \textit{S. Reich} and \textit{Z. Salinas} [Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo (2) 65, No. 1, 55--71 (2016; Zbl 1348.47064)] for infinite products of convex combinations of certain (possibly discontinuous) operators that approximate nearest point projections. This construction does not depend on the order of the involved elements and retains continuity properties with respect to them.
