An abundant recent literature has been devoted to the study of the so-called Onsager conjecture for the three-dimensional incompressible Euler equation. Recall that this conjecture says that for a finite-energy weak solution, regularity \(L^3(0,T; C^{0,1/3})\) is the limit one for which the energy is conserved. In the present paper, the authors consider the reduced hydrostatic Euler equations with rotation in a three-dimensional channel \(\Omega\) with periodic horizontal boundary conditions, namely \[ \left\{\begin{array}{ll} &\partial_t u+\operatorname{div} (u\,\mathbf{u})-\Omega v+\partial_xp=0,\\ &\partial_t v+\operatorname{div}\, (v\,\mathbf{u})+\Omega u+\partial_yp=0,\\ &\partial_zp=0,\\ &\partial_x u+\partial_yv+\partial_zw=0, \end{array}\right. \] where they use the notation \(\mathbf{u}=(u,v,w)\) for the 3D velocity field. The main goal is to adapt the `positive part' of the Onsager conjecture to this setting, that is to find as general as possible conditions under which the energy is conserved. The main theorem states that for a weak solution to have its energy conserved, it suffices that the vertical component belongs to \(L^2(0,T;L^2(\Omega))\) and that the horizontal components are in \(L^4(0,T; B^{\alpha}_{4,\infty}(\Omega))\) for some \(\alpha>1/2.\) The optimality of the result is not discussed.
