The primary goal of this paper is to study the explicit relations of Apéry-type series and colored multiple zeta values (CMZVs) by using the method of iterated integrals and Fourier-Legendre series expansions. In particular, the authors consider first the Fourier-Legendre series expansion of \(\log^m(x)\) (resp. \(\log^m(x)/\sqrt{x}\)) and obtain an expansion of their higher derivatives in terms of the multiple harmonic sums. Then, they show that some Apéry-type series can be expressed in terms of CMZVs. More precisely, it is shown that some multiple t-values (MtVs) and multiple \(t\)-star values (MtSVs) variants of Apéry-type series can be expressed in terms of CMZVs. Finally, using the theory of iterated integrals they prove few results for more general forms of variation of Apèry-type series involving products of multiple \(t\)-harmonic sums and multiple harmonic sums, and relate them to CMZVs of level \(2\) and level \(4\).
