The authors construct a \(C^3\) quartic spline quasi-interpolant for a uniform partition of a bounded interval \([a,\,b]\). Using this spline quasi-interpolant, a quadrature formula with an explicit error term is presented. For \(f\in C^6[a,\,b]\), the quadrature error is \({\mathcal O}(h^6)\), where \(h=(b-a)/n\) is the meshlength of the uniform partition. This quadrature rule is an efficient tool for solving linear Fredholm integral equations of the second kind by the Nyström method. Several numerical tests illustrate the results.
