The paper studies pseudodifferential evolution equations of the type \[ \frac{\partial u(x,t)}{\partial t} = A_x u(x,t) + f(x,t) ~,~u(x,0) = u^0(x)~, \tag{\(*\)} \] where \(u^0\) is a vector of distributions and \(A_x\) is a matrix of pseudodifferential operators acting on distributions over the \(p\)-adic vector space \(\mathbb{Q}_p^n\). (Test functions on \(p\)-adic vector spaces are by definition the compactly supported locally constant functions, and the distributions are the elements of the dual space.) Pseudodifferential operators are associated to symbols via the Fourier transform of the \(p\)-adic numbers, analogous to the Euclidean setting. Previous work of the authors has established a sufficient condition for a pseudodifferential operator to be diagonalized by a basis of Haar wavelets, and exhibited Lizorkin spaces of distributions as natural domain of definition for pseudodifferential operators. In this paper, the authors apply these observations to prove that \((*)\) has a unique solution and derive explicit formulae using wavelet expansions. Various concrete examples and special cases illustrate the scope of this result. In the final section of the paper, the solution of a class of semilinear equations is derived with similar techniques.
