The object of this paper is to study the behaviour of the differences \(T(t) - T(s)\) near the origin, in which the family \(\{T(t)\}\) is a semigroup of operators on a Banach space defined on \(t \geq 0\) or for a sector in the complex right half-plane and, in this case, it is assumed analytic. The results of this paper are stronger than those in [\textit{J. Esterle} and \textit{A. Mokhtari}, J. Funct. Anal. 195, No.~1, 167--189 (2002; Zbl 1032.47022); \textit{Z. Bendaoud}, \textit{J. Esterle} and \textit{A. Mokhtari}, Arch. Math. 89, No.~3, 243--253 (2007; Zbl 1134.46028)]; for example, the authors relax the condition \[ \limsup_{t\to 0} \|T(t) - T((n+1)t)\|< \frac{n}{(n+1)^{1 + 1/n}} \] to \[ \|T(t) - T((n+1)t)\|< \frac{n}{(n+1)^{1 + 1/n}}, \] for all \(t\) in an interval \((0, \delta)\). Moreover, the authors consider quantities such as the derivative of the semigroup and, indeed, linear combinations of the elements of the semigroup and its derivative. The final part of the paper is devoted to obtain conditions under which the closed algebra generated by the semigroup is unital.
