The authors consider the system of infinitely many difference equations (\(p\in\mathbb{R}\), \(a_k\in(0,1)\)): \(f(\frac{pj+k+1}{p^{n+1}})-(1-a_k)f(\frac j{p^n})-a_kf(\frac{j+1}{p^n})=c_n,\) \(n=0,1,2,..., j=0,1,...,p^n-1\), \(k=0,1,...,p-2\), \(f(0),f(1):\) given, and show that it has a unique continuous solution iff \(\sum_{n=1}^\infty\left|c_n\right|<\infty\). In this case, the solution \(f\) is expanded in terms of a modified Schauder basis in \(C[0,1]\). The (binomial) case \(p=2\) was previously obtained by the last two authors in Part I [Japan J. Ind. Appl. Math. 8, No. 2, 203-219 (1991; Zbl 0733.26003)]. The main tool is represented by a ``multinomial'' measure defined on \([0,1]\) whose distribution function is closely related to a Takagi type function.
