The paper studies the local derivations of rank one or zero solvable Lie algebras with filiform nilradical. Two specific cases are discussed and then the space of all local derivations of rank 0 solvable Lie algebras with filiform nilradical is analysed. Let \(L\) be a nilpotent Lie algebra and \(\operatorname{Der}(L)\) be the derivation algebra of \(L\). The maximal abelian subalgebras of \(\operatorname{Der}(L)\) consisting of semisimple elements are called maximal tori of derivations and their dimension is an invariant called the rank of \(L\). The rank of a solvable Lie algebra with filiform nilradical is at most 2. Let \(W_n\) be the \(n\)-dimensional Witt algebra and \(W_n^+\) be its maximal solvable extension. It is shown that the space of local derivations, \(\operatorname{LocDer}(W_n^+)\), is a Lie algebra and a decomposition of each local derivation is found. The process is repeated for \(R_n\), the \(n\)-dimensional special filiform algebra. Then a general form of rank 0 solvable Lie algebras with metabelian filiform nilradical is found.
