In this paper, the authors study the \(q\)-deformed polynuclear growth introduced recently by \textit{A. Aggarwal} et al. [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2023, No. 7, 5728--5780 (2023; Zbl 1527.60072)]. More precisely, they study large time deviations of the height function of this growth process. They prove a lower large deviation principle and an upper large devisation principle. The rate function for the upper large deviation does not depend on \(q\).
