The authors obtain an existence and uniqueness result for the solutions of the following history-dependent sweeping process in a Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}:\)\N\[\N\left\{\begin{array}{l} \dot{x}(t) = - N_{C(t)}x(t) +f(t,x(t)) + \mathcal{R}(x)(t) \quad \mbox{a.e.} \quad t \in I := [0,T],\\\Nx(0) = x_0 \in C(0), \end{array} \right.\N\]\Nwhere \(C \colon I \multimap \mathcal{H}\) is a multifunction with nonempty, closed and \(\rho\)-uniformly prox-regular values, \(N_{C(t)}x(t)\) is a normal cone to \(C(t)\) at \(x(t)\), and \(\mathcal{R}\) is a history-dependent operator. Function \(f \colon I \times \mathcal{H} \to \mathcal{H}\) is a given nonlinearity.\N\NBy using the Schauder fixed point theorem the authors prove also the existence result for the state-dependent history-dependent sweeping process of the following type:\N\[\N\left\{\begin{array}{l} \dot{x}(t) = - N_{C(t,x(t))}x(t) +f(t,x(t)) + \mathcal{R}(x)(t) \quad \mbox{a.e.} \quad t \in I,\\\Nx(0) = x_0 \in C(0,x_0), \end{array} \right.\N\]\NThese results are applied to the existence of solutions to Volterra type sweeping process and to viscoelastic models with a long memory.
