Let \(s_1, \dots , s_a, t_1, \dots, t_b\) be non-negative integers. Let\N\[\NV_1 = \bigoplus\limits_{1 \le i \le a} \mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}^n} (d_i)^{s_1} \quad \text{and} \quad V_2 = \bigoplus\limits_{1 \le j \le b} \mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}^n} (e_j)^{t_1}\N\]\Nwith \(0 \le d_i < e_j\) for all \(i, \; j\). Consider \(M : V_1 \rightarrow V_2\) be a general map. We denote \(\ker M\) by \(V\). One of the main result of this article concerns the study the cohomology of \(V\). More precisely, the authors prove the following:\N\N\begin{itemize}\N\item If \(\text{rk}(V_1) + \text{rk}(V_2) \ge r\), for some \(r\), then the map \(M\) induces a maximal rank map on global sections.\N\item If \(\text{rk}(V_1) \ge \text{rk}(V_2) + n\), the the bundle \(V\) is locally free sheaf with\N\[\Nh^0(V) = \max (\chi(V), \; 0), \quad h^1(V) = \max (-\chi(V), \; 0) \quad \text{and} \quad h^i(V) = 0 \; \; \text{for} \; i \ge 2.\N\]\N\end{itemize}\NIn addition, the authors also characterize the stability of general Steiner bundle on \(\mathbb{P}^n\) and give a criterion for such bundles to be ample.
