Here, the authors build on their previous work and go on exploring their ``Bassian'' ideas.\N\NAn abelian group \(G\) is defined to be semi-generalized co-Bassian, if, for every subgroup \(H\leq G\), if \(\phi: \longrightarrow G/H\) is an injective homomorphism, then \(\phi(G)\) has to be essential in a direct summand of \(G/H\). Examples include divisible groups and groups of the form \(G=\oplus_\alpha\mathbb{Z}(p^n)\) for every ordinal \(\alpha\) and every positive integer \(n\). This class is closed under direct summands, thus new examples can be constructed as well.\N\NThe two central results are as follows:\N\NTheorem 2.7 The \(p\)-group \(G\) is semi-generalized co-Bassian if and only if \(pG\) is generalized co-Bassian, i.e. \(pG\) has generalized finite \(p\)-rank. Theorem 2.9 If \(G\) has finite torsion-free rank, then \(G\) is semi-generalized co-Bassian if and only if for every prime \(p\), \(T_p\) is semi-generalized co-Bassian and either (a) \(T_p\) has finite \(p\)-rank, or (b) \(T_p\) is divisible, or (c) \(G/T\) is \(p\)-divisible.
