Let \(\mathrm{SU}(1,1) =\left\{ \left( \begin{array}{cc} a & b \\\N\bar{b} & \bar{a} \end{array} \right) \mid a, b \in \mathbb{C} \mbox{ and } |a|^2 - |b|^2 =1 \right\}\) and let \(\mathbb{D}\) be the open unit disk in the complex plane. The elements of the group \(SU(1,1)\) act as analytic automorphisms on \(\mathbb{D}\). For this review \(\nu\) will always denote an \textit{integer} strictly greater than one. Set\N\[\N\mathcal{H}_{\nu} := \left\{ f : \mathbb{D} \rightarrow \mathbb{C} \text{ analytic } \mid \int_{\mathbb{D}} |f(z)|^2 (1 - |z|^2)^{\nu} \frac{dz}{\pi(1 - |z|^2)^2} < \infty \right\}.\N\]\NWe shall write \(d\iota = \frac{dz}{\pi (1 - |z|^2)^2}\). The set \(\mathcal{H}_{\nu}\) is endowed with a Hilbert space norm. Irreducible unitary representations of \(\mathrm{SU}(1,1)\) can be realized on \(\mathcal{H}_{\nu}\). These particular representations are known as the holomorphic discrete series. In the paper under review, the author studies the tensor product of these representations. It is known that there is a decomposition\N\[\N\mathcal{H}_{\mu} \otimes \mathcal{H}_{\nu} = \bigoplus_{k=0}^{\infty} \mathcal{H}_{\mu + \nu + 2k}\N\]\Nand that there is a projection \(P_k : \mathcal{H}_{\mu} \otimes \mathcal{H}_{\nu} \rightarrow \mathcal{H}_{\mu + \nu + 2k}\). Denote by \(I_{\nu}\) the identity operator on \(\mathcal{H}_{\nu}\).\N\NUsing the above decomposition we can define the operator \(\mathcal{T}_{\mu,k}^{\nu} : B(\mathcal{H}_{\mu}) \rightarrow B(\mathcal{H}_{\mu + \nu + 2k})\) by\N\[\N\mathcal{T}_{\mu,k}^{\nu} (A) = P_k (A \otimes I_{\nu})P_k^{\ast}.\N\]\NIt is shown that \(\mathcal{T}_{\mu, k}^{\nu}\) sends trace-class operators to trace-class operators and is trace-preserving up to a constant. Furthermore, it is also proved that \(\mathcal{T}_{\mu, k}^{\nu}\) is unital and weak-\(\ast\) continuous. The operator \(\mathcal{T}_{\mu,k}^{\nu}\) is referred to as a \textit{quantum channel}. The main result of the paper is:\N\NLet \(\psi \in C^1([0,1])\), \(\psi(0) =0\) and \(A \in B(\mathcal{H}_{\mu})\) positive and of trace one. Then\N\[\N\lim_{\nu \rightarrow \infty} \frac{1}{\nu} \mbox{Tr}(\psi(\mathcal{T}_{\mu,k}^{\nu}(A))) = \int_{\mathbb{D}} \psi (H_{\mu}^k(A)(z)) \, d\iota(z),\N\]\Nwhere \(H_{\mu}^k\) is a generalized Husimi function.\N\NLet \(f \in L^1(\mathbb{D})\) and set \(R_{\mu}^{\ast} (f) = \frac{1}{\mu-1} T_f\), where \(T_f\) is the Toeplitz operator of \(f\) on \(\mathcal{H}_{\mu}\). A result similar to the one above is proved for the case when \(A = R_{\mu}^{\ast}(f)\) is positive and of trace one.
