Representations of \(\operatorname{SL}_2(F)\) (Q6992170)

In the paper under review, the authors classify the R-representations of \(\mathrm{SL}_2(F)\) with entries from a non-Archimedean local field \(F\) with residue field \(k_F\) of characteristic \(p\), where \(R\) is an algebraically closed field of characteristic different from \(p\). The problem is reduced to the classification problem of \(\ell\)-adic \(\mathbb Q_\ell^{ac}\)-representations over algebraically closed field closure \(\mathbb Q_\ell^{ac}\) of the corresponding groups (Theorem A.1, Proposition 1.6, Corollary 4.24, Proposition 4.30). \N\NUsing a classification of irreducible representations \(\Pi\) of \(\mathrm{GL}_2(F)\), the components of restrictions to \(\mathrm{SL}_2(F)\) provide \(L\)-packages \(L(\Pi)\) of cardinality 1, 2 or 4 (Theorem 1.1). The authors prove a \textsl{Langlands correspondence} for \(\mathrm{SL}_2(F)\)) and a \textsl{modified one} when the characteristic of \(R\) is different from 2 (Theorems 1.5, 5.2 ) and they prove that near identity a nontrivial irreducible smooth \(R\)-representation \(\pi\) of \(\mathrm{SL}_2(F)\) is, up to a finite-dimensional representation, isomorphic to a sum of 1, 2 or 4 representations in an \(L\)-packet of size 4, when \(p\) is odd there is only one such \(L\)-packet (Theorems 1.8, 6.17). In Theorems 1.9, 7.6, 1.10 and Corollary 7.10, they prove a formula for the dimension of the invariant of \(\pi\) by the \(j\)-th congruence subgroup of an Iwahori or a pro-\(p\) Iwahori subgroup of \(\mathrm{SL}_2(F)\).
