The authors focus on the ideals and related isomorphism problems in the theory of semigroups. One of the striking results they have established here is that the necessary and sufficient condition for the ideals of two strongly Archimedean, cancellative, duo monoids making up isomorphic semigroups under the induced operation of setwise multiplication is the monoids themselves are isomorphic up to units. The same result holds upon restriction to finitely generated ideals in Archimedean, cancellative, duo monoids. Also, the authors prove in the paper that a finitely-generated, up-to-units, duo monoid is Archimedean if and only if it is strongly Archimedean. With the help of their previous results, they establish a new case of the problem of \textit{T. Tamura} and \textit{J. Shafer} [Math. Japon. 12, 25--32 (1967; Zbl 0189.30302)] from the late 1960s. The paper contains a resourceful and updated reference list at the end.The paper might be much more interesting with the insertion of examples and counterexamples after the results proved.
