Let \(d_k(n)\) be the \(k\)-fold divisor function of \(n\) defined as the number of representations \(a_1\cdots a_k=n\) with \(a_1,\dots, a_k\in\mathbb{N}\), and \(\mathcal{B}_{\alpha,\beta}=(\lfloor\alpha n+\beta\rfloor)_{n\geq 1}\) be the Beatty sequence of parameters \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\). In the paper under review, the authors estimate the following restricted average sums\N\[\N\sum_{\substack{n\leq x\\\Nn\in\mathcal{B}_{\alpha,\beta}\\\Nn\equiv a\bmod{r}}}d_k(n),\qquad \sum_{\substack{n\leq x\\\Nn\in\mathcal{B}_{\alpha,\beta}}}d_k(n)\N\]\Nwith the leading terms, respectively given by\N\[\N\frac{1}{\alpha}\sum_{\substack{n\leq x\\\Nn\equiv a\bmod{r}}}d_k(n),\qquad \frac{1}{\alpha}\sum_{\substack{n\leq x}}d_k(n),\N\]\Nwhere \(\alpha\) is assumed to be an irrational number of finite type. A key idea in the proofs is an upper bound for an exponential sum twisted by the \(k\)-fold divisor function.
