In 1995, \textit{K. A. Roper} and \textit{T. J. Suffridge} [J. Anal. Math. 65, 333--347 (1995; Zbl 0846.32006)] in their studies of convex mappings on the unit ball of \(\mathbb{C}^n\) considered an extension operator which translates convex functions on the unit disk into the set of convex functions on the unit ball of \(\mathbb{C}^n\). Properties of this operator (today called the Roper-Suffridge extension operator) have been studied by several mathematicians. In particular, it was shown by \textit{I. Graham} and \textit{G. Kohr} [[G-K]: Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 47, 59--72 (2002; Zbl 1026.32033)] that the class of starlike functions with respect to the origin on the unit disk is translated to the class of starlike functions on the unit ball of \(\mathbb{C}^n\). Some modifications of this operator were considered in [G-K], [\textit{I. Graham, G. Kohr} and \textit{M. Kohr}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 247, 448--465 (2000; Zbl 0965.32008)] and [\textit{S. Gong} and \textit{T. S. Liu}, J. Anal. Math. 88, 397--404 (2002; Zbl 1034.32001), J. Math. Anal. Appl. 284, 425--434 (2003; Zbl 1031.32002)]. The latter paper deals with the class of so-called \(\epsilon\)-starlike functions which can be interpreted as a generalization of both classes convex and starlike (under suitable choice of \(\epsilon\)). A local distortion theorem for the Frechet derivative of the Roper-Suffridge extension operator was recently given by \textit{P. Liczberski} and \textit{V. V. Starkov} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 274, 495--504 (2002; Zbl 1015.32015)]. In the present paper the authors establish a sharp lower bound for the norm of the Frechet derivative of a more general extension operator on \(\mathbb{B}^n\) for normalizing univalent mappings or normalized convex mappings. They also present a similar sharp lower bound on bounded convex complete Reinhardt domains in \(\mathbb{C}^n\).
