In [Invent. Math. 124, No. 1--3, 281--311 (1996; Zbl 0858.53071)] \textit{G. Huisken} and \textit{S.-T. Yau} showed that every three-dimensional Riemannian manifold which is asymptotically equal to the (spatial) Schwarzschild solution and has positive mass can be uniquely foliated near infinity by closed surfaces of constant mean curvature (CMC for short). Later, in [J. Differ. Geom. 77, No. 2, 201--236 (2007; Zbl 1140.53013)] \textit{J. Metzger} proved the same result under weakened assumptions. In the paper, the author gives a generalization of the above results for foliations of three-dimensional Riemannian manifolds by stable spheres with constant mean curvature. Namely, in Section 5, he proves that if the metric of the considered Riemannian manifold \(M\) is asymptotically flat with asymptotically vanishing scalar cuvature and non-vanishing mass then a CMC-foliation on \(M\) exists (Theorem 5.1) and is unique (Theorem 5.2). Furthermore, in the last section of the paper, the author proves (Theorem 6.3) that the CMC-center of mass exists and coincides with the center of mass which is defined by \textit{R. Arnowitt} et al. in [Phys. Rev., II. Ser. 122, 997--1006 (1961; Zbl 0094.23003)].
