Normal structure of Sylow p-subgroups of the restricted linear group (Q753960)

Let V be a vector space over a finite field F. Assume V has a countable basis \(\{x_ i\}\). Put \(V_ n=<x_ 1,...,x_ n>\). Let P be the union of Sylow p-subgroups \(P_ i\) in \(GL(V_ i)\) such that \(P_ i\subset P_{i+1}\). The author determines all elements in P whose normal closure in P is Abelian.
